Our weekly science classes for preschoolers are conducted during the school term. Each class is 30-45 minutes in duration and consists of science experiments / activities. Each term, we explore a theme from the 3 natural sciences: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences.
Classes commence with an interactive presentation of the theory behind a particular science concept. The theory is then applied through fun, hands-on experiments and activities.
Class is concluded with a narrative that is specifically selected to reiterate the science concept that was learnt from each session. Along with learning and experiencing science concepts, children will also develop social skills and confidence through interactive group discussions to prepare them for the impending transition to school life.
All classes are conducted indoors by science educators who are passionate about engaging and helping children learn science. Lessons are tailored to children aged between 3 to 8 years old and all instructors have a current working with children licence and extensive experience with preschoolers. We also have a very stringent COVID safe policy to keep the children, educators, and our team safe.
Parents are provided with lesson report for each session which summarises the learning areas and objectives for the class in order to promote further discussions at home such that learning does not end when class does. At the end of each term, each child will graduate from the program with a certificate of completion.
If your child is unable to attend the days/times for our weekly classes, we can bring our weekly science classes to your child's early learning centre! Simply ask your child's teacher to contact us to arrange the program.

The booking you make is for your child to attend regular (weekly) sessions during a school term. If you happen to book your child after the program has started for the term, then the cost is calculated based on the number of classes remaining for the term program. For our services to be sustainable, we currently do not provide single/casual/ad-hoc/one-off sessions or pro-rata weeks you may be away or unable to attend.
If a child attends only a few select sessions, full term fees are still required to be paid. Additionally, our classes are designed to cover one specific theme/concept over the course of the term such that we start with the basics and build upon this each week, as such it would not be in the child’s best interest to attend sessions on an ad-hoc basis.
Our sessions are designed for children aged 3 to 10 years old. All children learn differently and are of different developmental stages independent of age. Thus, every child that attends our session will take away and learn from different aspects of our session. Younger children tend to learn from our hands-on experiments while the older children learn more from the theoretical aspect of our session whilst enjoying the hands-on experiments. We aim to teach through all modes of learning – auditory, visual and kinaesthetic.
All the experiments/activities in our sessions have been carefully designed to adhere to strict safety standards.
All our sessions are delivered by trained, adult science instructors with a current working with children’s check. We will make every effort to have the same instructor for each session of our term program to ensure familiarity for the children. However, this may not always be possible in the event our instructor is unwell or unable to attend.
For our weekly classes, we allow a maximum number of 12 children per session with one instructor.
We do not offer trial classes however you are able to ‘come and see’ a session before committing to the term program. This is where your child is given the opportunity to attend one of our sessions for free however this visit is for observation only. Your child is not able to participate in this session. If you wish to ‘come and see’ a session, please contact us before the session.
All booked sessions are subject to change under our discretion. While we use our best efforts to deliver a session according to the published/agreed date and time, in some instances changes may be required due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. staff illness, traffic conditions, material shortages). Therefore, we cannot always guarantee that your session will be delivered as per the booking. Due to fluctuations in demand for our services and unforeseen circumstances, no guarantee is made that sessions will operate per the timetable. Any changes will be communicated to you.
If you wish to cancel your booking for the term program after the booking has already been confirmed and your child has already started attending the sessions, you must notify us in writing however we are unable to refund your payment as these funds would have already been used to purchase and prepare the materials for your child’s sessions.
If you wish to cancel a single session, due to illness or just unable to attend, you must notify us however we are unable to refund your payment as these funds would have been used to plan, purchase and prepare the materials for your child’s sessions for the term. Your child may be able to attend an alternative/make-up class if places are available for the session.
If we need to cancel a session or a series of sessions for whatever reason, you will be notified and we will endeavour to reschedule the session.
While bookings are open, we make every attempt to fill all the sessions. However, if we are unable to obtain a sufficient number of children for a session, we have the right to cancel the session and you will be notified.
As the person making the booking, you are responsible for paying the fees. All fees must be paid within 48 hours of your booking. We have the right to cancel your booking if payment is not received in a timely manner.
Car parking may or may not be available at our venue and this will be advised in your booking notification. Car parking may be limited so it is your responsibility to arrive early or on time to find a car park that is convenient for you and your child. You are accountable for any costs/fines/losses associated with your vehicle and car parking.
Parent/Guardian Supervision & Participation
You are required to be physically present on the premises for the entire duration of each session. You may wait in the foyer or a designated area close by within the premises whilst the session is being delivered. This is because we are not a registered child care provider. We are therefore not licensed to care for children without the presence of an approved guardian.
During the session, you are not actively encouraged to participate in the activities since our aim is to promote independence through our structured learning. This is to mimic a school environment. It is suggested that ‘line-of-sight’ supervision be provided to your child instead of direct assistance in order to promote independence. However, we do understand that it may take a while for some children to settle into our session. If this is the case, you are most welcome to stay with your child during the session until your child is settled.
From time to time, we may take a photos/videos of a particular science activity during your session. These photos/videos may be specifically of the equipment/materials we use or the final product of an experiment for our records and teaching materials. Other times, these photos/videos may be of a group of children or your child in the setting of our session for the purpose of promotional material such as on social media and our website. In this case, the inclusion of photos/videos of your child will be based on the permission you have provided us during the booking process.
If you wish to take photos/videos of your own child during any of our sessions, you may do so as long as it does not interfere or disrupt the session in any way. It would be best to take such photos/videos at the beginning or at the end of a session. Please be mindful of taking photos/videos of other children during the session as you must obtain permission from the parents/guardians if you wish to include other children in your photos/videos.
If you wish to take photos/videos of our session including our equipment, materials, procedures or our instructors, you must obtain approval from us prior to the session.
Food and Drink
The consumption of food or drink is prohibited during any of our sessions due to safety reasons. We therefore do not have a ‘snack time’ for the children. However, your child is permitted to bring a bottle of water and have a drink before and/or after a session. It may be best for your child to have a small snack prior to the session.
There are toilets available on the premises to use anytime however we suggest you encourage your child to go to the toilet prior to the session so that their learning during the session is not interrupted. If your child needs to use the toilet facilities during the session, you will be required to escort your child.
Children are required to wear closed toe shoes at all times during the session. The activities in our sessions might be messy and it is expected that children may soil their clothes during a session. You must accept this and take this into consideration and either use the protective items we have provided or bring your own items such as art smocks ready for use if required.
The exact duration of our sessions can vary to that what is stated on our website and any information provided. Although, we aim to commence and finish a session at the specified time, there may be unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from commencing and finishing a session at the agreed time.
Siblings of enrolled children that do not have a booking are not permitted to participate in the session. If siblings do attend, you must ensure that they do not interfere with any equipment/materials and that they do not disrupt the session.
Content and Materials
You acknowledge that we use our best endeavours to ensure that the equipment and materials used in our sessions are safe and fit for purpose however acknowledge that all experiments and activities should be considered inherently dangerous and accept any inherent associated risks.
The list of activities and photographs provided on our website and other advertising material are for illustration purposes only. We cannot guarantee that the creations will turn out exactly as shown on the photographs as the final outcome will depend on the participants ability level and the materials available at the time.
We reserve the right to change the list of activities provided without prior notice. We reserve the right to change or substitute ingredients / materials used in science or craft activities. You understand that the colours, size, texture, shape, etc. of the final outcome may vary depending on the materials used, participants ability level, ‘curing’ time, and a host of other factors. Science experiments, due to their very nature, might not always end with the expected results. The outcome would depend on the participants ability level and how well instructions have been followed.
